Item Description
An utterly charming late 19th century table top German wooden box of small proportions made to keep safe some personal items, like jewellery, money and other smalls.
Not just your ordinary box either, but skilfully made with a bow front lower drawer and concave upper drawers and sides. The lid is shaped to mirror the lower sections. The lid has also been ebonised, but with cut outs to reveal a decorative design that incorporates the letters that I think reads NOA. As you open the lid, the central rectangular tab below which keeps the drawers nicely together, and which is also ebonised and decorated with a floral scene, lifts up with it, as it is an integral part. Clever huh!
The top and central drawers each pull out independently of each other and work really well and smoothly. Once these are extended, they reveal a larger storage space. The whole sitting on a set of sweer little bun feet.
