Item Description
Here we have an original, framed map of London's Trolleybus and Tram Routes published by London Transport in 1947. It's a great overview of the city from this period; it was designed by Fred J.H. Elston and features the extensive post-war network of orange tram and trolleybus routes alongside an angular layout of the River Thames.
The map is a decent example that has been professionally framed and glazed. The original fold lines are still visible, some with slight wear / losses, though flattened out nicely by the framing. Being folded maps, this has been saved from exposure to sunlight and as such the paper hasn't yellowed too much and the colours remain good. Although modern framing, the poster has been in this frame for a number of years and the frame does have a few small marks; only really noticeable on close inspection.
It measures 60.5cm wide x 47.5cm high x 1.5cm deep.
