Item Description
This Belgian film poster for 'Toi Que J'aimais' at the Cinéma Studio du Casino dates to 1958. I've never watched 'Toi Que J'aimais' nor do I intend to, but the graphics on this poster as absolutely fantastic. The speeding sports car with the driver's gritted facial expression juxtaposes perfectly against the noble stance and single tear of the female figure. 60 odd years on, the colours remain as punchy as the imagery. I've never encountered another example of this poster, nor can I find any other examples online etc so I suspect this is a rare survivor and will provide a fairly (if not entirely) unique piece of vintage artwork. This is the smaller size of Belgian poster, measuring 56cm high x 38cm wide including the frame. It's survived the decades in good order with just a few light creases and a little marking / fading along the upper edge where the screening times are printed. The stamping that would be expected of an authentic Belgian poster from the period is all present.
