Item Description
This wall chart shows the 'transverse section' of an earthworm, which is far more decorative/graphically appealing than the title would imply. The main round drawing shows a good pattern and is illustrated with good colours. The chart was designed and drawn by R.A and A.E Ellis, printed in Great Britain by George Philip & Son Ltd and sold as part of Philips' Biology Charts. George Philip & Son Ltd produced general text books, atlases and wall charts from 1870 until 1987, this particular piece is likely to date from the 1960s. The wall chart rolls up and is tied together with the string that is used to hang it when unrolled. The chart is in generally good condition - though there are minor watermarks to the upper and lower corners and a piece of reinforcing tape has been applied to the upper rear edge. When unrolled the chart is 95cm tall, 61cm wide and the wooden batons are around 1.5cm thick.
