This is an antique school sampler. An English, needlepoint pupil's embroidery display, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1884.

  • Charming sampler, showing a deft hand from the 9 year old pupil
  • Displays a desirable aged patina within a later, quality frame
  • Cotton embroidery presents an appealing colour palette
  • Dressed to the rear with hanging wire for ease of mounting

 

  • Embroidered alphabet in block letters and cursive, with numbers below
  • Appears to list the initials of each pupil within Elizabeth Bell's class
