This is an antique tantalus. An English, silver plated three decanter set dating to the Edwardian period, circa 1910. A fascinating example with a refined decorative presence and attractive later glassware.
Displays a lightly time-worn, bright silver tonality throughout
Lid adorned with a decorative handle in the delightful form of a grapevine
Replete with a lock to fascia — untested, key absent
Case enhanced with fretwork panels offering views of the decanters within
Fascia engraved with a fruit motif, adding appealing decorative interest
Quality laurel wreath drop handles grace each side
Standing upon a superb quartet of lion mask feet with proud paw toes
Maker's initials to the base, likely for George Waterhouse & Co of Sheffield
Later trio of matched cut glass decanters, each of striking clarity
