Item Description
A 1970s oil on canvas painting.
Depicting a view from an unforgiving rocky outcrop with jagged rocks looking down onto a calmer valley with a river below.
Painted in a very atmospheric almost abstract style capturing plenty of feeling in the landscape with an almost monochrome palette of slate greys and using a palette knife to capture the higher rocky area, in contrast, the background of the valley is softer.
Signed ‘S. Jones’ and dated ‘1974’.
In its original and complimentary painted wooden frame.
The painting is in good vintage order with no real issues and only minimal wear commensurate with age.
Overall measurements 84cm x 58cm x 6cm.
