VINTAGE ORIGINAL OIL ON CANVAS BIRD PAINTING
Depicting a pigeon sat on the grass from the perspective looking towards the ground as if you are walking past.
Painted in quick, confident manner that is quite sketchy, the artist is using the negative space of the raw untreated canvas contrasting with a bold colour palette to great effect, providing an almost abstraction of the scene whilst expertly capturing the unmistakable character of the pigeon.
Signed to the lower right ‘Brian’ and also dated ‘1961’. The work is also inscribed verso ‘Brian Rodwell’.
The painting is in good vintage condition with wear commensurate with age and no serious issues.
Overall measurements: 61cm x 51cm x 2cm.
