VINTAGE ARMCHAIRS IN THE MANNER OF ANTONIO BUDJI LAYUG
A matching pair of extremely decorative easy lounge chairs. Made from chunky bamboo connected by rattan and with woven rattan seats.
They are unsigned but very much in the style of renowned Filipino designer Antonio Budji Layug. Layug became famous in the 1970s when his bamboo based furniture designs featured in many celebrity and high end interiors worldwide and were retailed through Bloomingdales, New York.
The chairs are in good vintage condition with no serious issues but wear throughout commensurate with age including some marks, discolouration and fading, the rattan fixings are worn in places and some threads have become loose but all joints are secure and work as they should.
Approximate measurements each: 84cm high x 62cm wide x 63cm deep. The seat height is approximately 38cm.
