A late 19th Century French Prie Dieu, or Prayer Chair.
With original burgundy velvet upholstery and gold dress trims, and an aged oak frame with a beautiful patina and simple almost bobbin style legs and spindles.
It has a matching velvet head pad and a secret rear storage compartment.
Despite needing some TLC to the trims and base cloth, this small but mighty chair has a real presence – a tremendous statement piece.
