Item Description
Style: Charming 19th century French Rococo style vitrine exuding rustic elegance. A removable chapeau de gendarme carved crown, sits on top a bonnet showcasing a carved basket of flowers with grape clusters and foliage. The single glass door, secured by two brass barrel hinges and an ornate brass key guard (complete with key), is framed by delicate side carvings. Four spacious display tiers, perfect for showcasing china, linens, or collectibles. A full width drawer offers convenient additional storage, all grounded by gracefully scrolled front legs adorned with carved floral motifs.
Story: The French vitrine is a glass fronted display cabinet born in 18th century France. Descended from Renaissance curiosity cabinets, these pieces were crafted for nobility to securely display and protect delicate china and prized collectibles in the salon.
