Item Description
An old footed ironstone fruit bowl with lovely colours - dark brown, rose, arsenic green and mustardy yellow. Chinoiserie transferware pattern and hand painted. Unfortunately unmarked but is very typical Staffordshire ironstone of its time - anywhere between 1813 to 1880’s.
Would have guessed it as a modest piece as transferware pattern is a bit irregular around the pedestal. Good condition, no chips or cracks but certainly worn - commensurate with its age.
A really homely piece, perfect for the kitchen table for bulbs, flowers or fruit.
Planted generously with Muscari 'Blue Eyes' which will flowers for weeks and has a subtle scent.
