Item Description
A rare mid-20th century English Ruberoid shop counter advertising display. Stamped at the base and reverse SHONE, MADE IN ENGLAND and BERITE. The figure is holding an old hessian piece of cloth in it hands to show a coffee bag of sorts. We have never seen the like before and you are unlikely to find one again, a rare survivor.
Dimensions in inches: H 22 x D 17 x W 11 Origin: United Kingdom Circa: Mid-20th Century Condition: Worn Completely solid in structure, aged surface as shown with a deep natural patina across all areas. The Ruberoid surface has dried out and aged over time leaving a crackle effect in most areas of this figure. The hands show a lot of this crackling effect and shows signs to repair across the inner palm section. The paint has also faded in sections. The stencilled text has most likely been replied at some point and would likely have worn away on several occasions. The figure has a thick coat of paint over in the colour cream which looks original to the figures age.
