Item Description

Early 20th century English estate made decoy duck

A true example of an early 20th century English estate made decoy duck form, with glass eyes. With a wonderful, moveable head with worn painted surface. Made from sectioned piece of pine, this example has an old lead section at its base to help it float, marked underneath with carved initials HM / NK likely the makers initials on the estate grounds. This example was part of a larger collection recently discovered by us in a large country estate sale, in the south of England. A lovely example of what a decoy duck shown represent in form and look in our humble opinion.

Origin: English

Material: Pine

Age: 1910 - 1920

Size: Height 8.5” x Width 17” x Depth 6”
