Early 20th Century English Ventriloquist Dummy

An unusual example of a hand-crafted early 20th Century English ventriloquist dummy. With tailored made velour outfit with pearl buttons. Silk hand stitched gloves and cotton shirt with tie. The head is made from papier Mache over wood and fitted to a pine wooden body. The jaw opens and closes but is a tad stiff due to its age. With a support spring head that moves back and forth of a metal hinge. This example come with its original pine box and tasselled cloth as shown in the photos provided. A one of example with a freak glass eyes and hair.

This item shows natural wear and aging through obvious use over the years. Surfaces are worn and the face has missing detail with cracked sections (but firmly in place and not loss). The cloths are torn in areas and worn on the edges, the shoes and torn and aged also, there are stains across this item and its very old, All the sections are firmly in place and not fragile as its well-made. Please take not the mouth does open and close but it stiff and doesn’t operate from the mechanism anymore. The head is on a hinge and springs back and forth when assisted. The dummy does sit on the box provide but needs support, there would have been more stings that went into the box to animate the figure, but we have left it as it is. An old object that has stood the test of time, expect aging and loss as shown.
