Item Description
Description: A very large and impressive antique bronze door knocker. Dating from the 19th Century this is a fine example of a French front door knocker. Weighing 1.6 kilos with a stunning sculptural surface of Gothic gargoyles in the form of dragons ending with a devils face to the base where the strike rests.
Condition: Very good. The bronze surface has been sensitively cleaned, revealing the patina which adds to its charm. The strike leans a fraction of a mm to the left and has had a new brass pin fitted which gives a good, loud solid knock. Supplied with replacement bolts and nuts, this door knocker is sold ready to install.
