Item Description
Description: Impressive large sized original Victorian front door knob. This handle is ceramic with a fine crackle glaze to the surface, quality heavy weight. The ribbed pattern is referred to as the beehive style and was popularised during the Victorian era having been first introduced during the Georgian period as a design feature which allowed grip of the handle to function well. Threaded back screw with bolt for installation.
Condition: Very good. Signs of age to ceramic surface to be expected with the use of this front door knob. Nice patina to the surface of the glaze from age and wear. Original back screw and bolt have been cleaned and function well.
