Item Description
A set of 10 vintage French heavy linen damask napkins with drawn thread hems and FW monograms to the centre. Excellent quality pure linen with wonderful garland and ribbon patterns to the damask. Entirely hand stitched.
This set has never been used, I was the first person to launder it.
Colour is currently a pale beigey-cream; this will continue to lighten with subsequent washes. Traditionally these we sold unbleached and then left their natural colour or bleached by the owner (or their maid!).
Now freshly laundered and ready for use. A couple of pale marks remain but these will fade away as the napkins are laundered. One napkin has a little snag but otherwise; all in excellent condition.
