Item Description

A super quality, Edwardian steel bread knife with a carved wooden handle. The blade of this knife is marked “ENCORE. THOMAS TURNER. CUTLERS TO HIS MAJESTY. FOR A & N CSL”. “His Majesty” would refer to Edward the Seventh and the knife dates from c.1905. A & N CSL were the Army and Navy Stores that were established in 1871. The sycamore handle is beautifully carved with wheat, a flower and a shell, and the piece is in excellent condition.
Dimensions: Length 33.4cm. Width of blade 3cm. Diameter of handle 2.7cm.
