Item Description
A huge, and very good quality, English copper preserve pan. To the base this is stamped with the orb and cross symbol used by Benhams and there is also a workman’s mark. The brass handles, which are the typical English form, are stamped with a number ’18’ which relates to the internal diameter of the pan in inches, and beside one of these handles are the engraved initials “S.E.H”. These would be the initials of a previous owner. The pan is very well made, from a very heavy gauge of copper and it has a lovely castellated seam running around just above the base and up one side. It dates from c.1860 and is in excellent condition with just a few very small marks to the copper on the interior.
Dimensions: Diameter of pan 48.5cm. Depth of pan 17cm. Overall width including the handles 59.5cm. Overall height including the handles 23cm
Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £50. Most of Western Europe add £25.
