Item Description
A rare, large, three pewter ice cream mould in the shape a yacht in full sail. This is marked, in the casting, “C.C” which is the mark of the French company Cadot, and there is also a pattern number “992”. However, there was a further mark which has been erased. The interior of the base is marked “BREVETTE S.G.D.G” but the is also partially erased. It dates from c.1880. The modelling to the interior is very well detailed and would turn a three dimensional yacht with a sailor at the helm. The mould is in excellent condition and is complete with its original pewter base. The interior is in very good, bright, usable condition and the exterior of the mould has a dark but shiny patina. It is held together by brass pins and these are replacements.
