Item Description
An attractive pair of 19th century, French crystal, amber overlay glasses. These date from c.1880 and originally would have been made as water glasses as wine glasses at the time were smaller. The bowls have a long elliptical cut to the lower section above which is a band of amber into which are etched grapes and wines. There is a further narrow band of amber to the feet and the glasses have a low, baluster shaped stem. They are both in excellent condition.
Dimensions: Height 14.2cm. Diameter at the rim 8.4cm. Diameter at the foot 7.7cm. There are marginal differences in the sizes as they are hand blown.
