Item Description
A rare, 19th century, Masonic, copper jelly mould. This would originally have been made for use in a Masonic lodge. It is marked with the orb and cross symbol used by Benhams above a pattern number ’547’ but the orb and cross is barely discernible as it has been over stamped with “JONES BROS DOWN ST. W.”. To the opposite side is a workman’s mark in the shape of a heart. The mould would have been made by Benhams for retail by Jones Brothers. It is made from quite a heavy gauge of copper and it dates from c.1880. To the top is the Masonic symbol of the square and compass and the sides are angular, following the shape of the top. There is slight denting to some of the high points of the design, on the corners, but otherwise the mould is in very good condition.
Dimensions: Diameter 12.2cm. Height 12.6cm.
Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £20. Most of Western Europe add £10.
