Item Description
A set of brass button polishing sticks. These would have been put over brass buttons, to protect the fabric beneath, when polishing the buttons. These are quite interesting as they come as a set in various sizes. There is one stick to actually size the buttons and then the others have the various sized holes. They date from 1922 and have various stamps including the registered design “PATENT No 116972/17”. One is fully marked with the manufacturers name and other details: “BODILL PARKER (1922 LIMITED MANUFACTURERS & CONTRACTORS BIRMINGHAM PAT. No 116972 THE “BOPARK”.
