Item Description
A small, late 19th century, sycamore breadboard. This is English and dates from c.1890. The border is carved with one of the more unusual mottos, “Cut and come again”, in a Gothic script. The remainder of the border is carved with a shield shape, wheat and long leaves. The carving is worn, with use, and the reverse of the board has some small stains. There were a few wood worm holes but these have been treated and filled.
Dimensions: Diameter 27.2cm. Depth 2cm.
