Item Description
A super quality, French crystal ice bucket. This is marked, to the base, “ST. LOUIS CRISTAL FRANCE” and it dates from c.1920. St. Louis did not start the systematic marking of all of their table wares until 1936 but some of the special pieces were marked earlier than that. This piece dates from c.1920. The design is known as the “Gold Thistle” due to the beautiful gilt design on the rim, the shape of the bucket, and the rows of elliptical cuts around the base which resemble a thistle. There is a tiny blemish on one of the handles but otherwise the piece is in very good condition.
Dimensions: Height 15cm. Diameter 16.2cm. Width 21cm.
