Item Description
A very unusual, early 20th century, steel bread knife with a carved fruitwood handle. The steel blade is marked with “G. R” to either side of a crown, above “HARRISON BROS & HOWSON CUTLER TO HIS MAJESTY”. This refers to King George V and the knife dates from c.1920. What is really unusual is the carving of the handle. Both sides are well carved with fish against a stipple background. The piece is in excellent condition.
