Item Description
An early 19th century walnut sugar or gesso mould carved with an unusual border design. This is deeply carved and it dates from c.1820. The design could be used either for fancy sugar work or for gesso frames or ornamentation. There is a split to one end of the mould, which does go through, and one side of the mould has been quite badly burned. None of this affects the usability of the mould.
Dimensions: Length 19.7cm. Width 13.9cm. Depth 2.3cm.
