Item Description
An early 20th century, Wedgwood, dark blue jasper dip biscuit barrel. This is marked “WEDGWOOD MADE IN ENGLAND” and it dates from c.1920. It is decorated, in white relief, with a band of classical maidens offering sacrifice and beneath this is a border of laurel leaves and berries. All of the reliefs are good quality and the jasper dip is a rich shade of blue. The silver plated lid is quite unusual in that the nicely shaped finial is stamped “BISCUITS”. There is very slight wear to the plated lid and fitting but otherwise the piece is in excellent condition.
Dimensions: Height to top of finial on lid 17cm. Diameter 14cm.
