Item Description
A colourful handmade Murano art glass cockerel or rooster, made in Italy in the 1950s. This is a particularly fine example of its type; its breast is studded with colourful glass 'jewels' and there are silver aventurine inclusions in the glass round its neck. Add to this the vibrant colours of the glass and it all adds up to a fabulous example of the glassworker's art. It is very much in the style of pieces made by Fratelli Toso and was probably retailed/exported through Vetro Artistico Veneziano.
It is in excellent condition and displays beautifully.
