Item Description
An antique oyster-veneered and chequer inlaid walnut bureau bookcase of very small proportions and of Irish interest, 19th Century but in early Georgian style.
The glazed top with a dentil cornice and a pair of pull-out candle supports, the oyster veneered base with a fall-front opening to reveal a fitted interior with drawers, pigeon holes and a sliding compartment adjacent to the leather inset writing surface, over two short and three long drawers, with chequer inlay throughout and raised on bracket feet.
The interior of the glazed cabinet with a retailers label for 'NOLAN & SONS, Antique Art Depot, Dublin'. With original key. The base has old repairs and veneer patching in places, the drop is missing on the handle of the central drawer but it's a lovely piece and a very unusual size.
