Item Description
A hand-knotted South West Persian Qashqai woollen rug, with three conjoined hooked medallions within a larger medallion and the field covered with tribal symbols such as as flowers and boteh within multiple borders.
In excellent, clean conditon with a mid-length pile with fringing to the ends.
The Qashqai are nomadic, tribal people from the South West of Iran. The rugs are woven from the wool of the tribes own sheep and designs woven from memory rather than a set pattern. Typical colours are red, indigo and white.
