Original Antique Anglepoise Desk Lamp 1208 Model By Herbert Terry & Sons – A

An early scarcely found original Anglepoise lamp By Herbert Terry and Sons, Model 1208, A design classic desk lamp with a cast metal bowed edge square base, this is the rarer larger and taller base. The lamp retains the original makers mark cast into the arm elbow this is only placed here on the early model also the ‘Patent Pending’ stamp indicate this a one of the first models . There are some other distinguishing features which denote an early model lamp, the cable entry is through the taller cast metal base, the lamp has chromed arms (under the white overpaint), there are 5 tensioning holes on the upper arm to adjust spring tension.

The 4 springs allow the lamp to be positioned and angled with a light touch that then keeps its position, making a perfectly balanced and functional lamp. Perfect for many table tops and desks in the home and workplace, this classic, adjustable lamp is a must have and will fit well in any décor.

Workshop Report: This lamp is in its original condition, it has been fully dismantled with all spacers, nuts and bolts cleaned and waxed. The lamp has been overpainted in white paint which is flaking as with the black paint on the shade, the base has wear to the black paint with red underpants showing through. It has been rewired with 2.5m twisted brown flex and 3 pin UK Plug. It retains its original bakelite crabtree bayonet bulbholder. Lamp has been PAT tested.

As with all our products, This product is an original vintage item so there are signs of wear from use.
