Item Description

This antique silver and porcelain match stick holder and striker, dating back to 1908, showcases a design with a strong theme of elegance. Made by the renowned silversmith Henry Clifford Davis and hallmarked in Birmingham, United Kingdom, this piece is a unique and sought-after collectable for those interested in tabletop accessories. The combination of silver and porcelain materials adds a touch of elegance to this functional table accessory, making it a valuable addition to any collection of match strikers and holders. The piece is mostly sterling silver and in the shape of a capstan inkwell but has a Royal Doulton matchstick holder and striker and is original (not a marriage) as Henry Clifford Davis was known for brilliant quirky pieces.

It is in very good condition with no restoration and only damage is very tine dings on the surface of the silver base from over 100 years of use. it measures 7 cm tall and 14 cm wide across the base. The base is loaded and with the porcelain and stone striker the silver weight is not obtainable.
