Item Description
Style: Charming, hand-painted plates by the renowned German maker, Waechtersbacher Ceramics. Featuring a sophisticated palette of grey with delicate touches of pale pink, they are as lightweight as they are stylish. Each piece bears the impressed shield mark, dating them to pre 1949 - before the 'Made in Germany' stamp became standard. All plates are in perfect condition with no crazing, chips, or discoloration. As a bonus, this set includes one additional plate featuring a minor chip on the underside of the fish head; this piece is included at no extra cost.
Story: Modelled after the company’s iconic 1906 “Fish Service,” these plates were produced for a very limited time during the 1940s and 1950s. The Waechtersbacher Steingutfabrik was founded in 1832, utilising high quality white clay discovered in the Ysenburg-Waechtersbach forest in 1829.
