Item Description
A sleek, highly collectibleArt Deco six-sided hexagonal silver plated cocktail shakermanufactured byDavid Hollander & Sonsat their Plato Works in Birmingham, England, circa 1930.
Crafted from heavy-gauge EPNS (Electroplated Nickel Silver), this piece is a textbook example of 1930s Machine Age design. Its tapered geometric silhouette and architectural step-faceted cap beautifully capture the ultra-premium aesthetic pioneered by business such as Asprey of London during the era. The shaker features an integrated internal strainer and crisp stamped maker marks on the base:"Regd Plato, E.P.N.S., Made in England."
Styling Note: With its clean architectural lines and brilliant mirror finish, this shaker serves as a striking focal point for a modernist bar cart or cocktail cabinet. It pairs beautifully with period-accurate 1930s barware, particularly uranium glass or green-stemmed coupe glasses, which dramatically contrast and enhance its sharp geometric silhouette.
Condition Report: Excellent vintage condition. The original silver plating remains remarkably bright and uniform, retaining a sharp, mirror-like finish free of heavy wear or "bleeding." The interior is clean, and the shaker retains it’s original cap. A flawlesscentrepiece for a modernist bar cart.
