Item Description
A super quality, large, early 20th century, Belgian copper, salmon kettle with drainer. Both the side of the pan, and the lid, are stamped “H. POMMIER BRUXELLES” but this mark is now quite worn. This company was originally founded in 1830 by Michel Van Neuss. His grandson, Hippolyte Pommier, who lived from 1866 to 1936 took over the company and pieces with this mark started around 1910. This piece dates from c.1920. The company is known for producing copper of the highest quality, often 3.5 to 4mm thick with hand hammered details. This piece is made from an exceptionally heavy gauge of copper but the copper has a smooth finish. There are a couple of very tiny dents to the side but otherwise it is in very good condition and the interior has been re-tinned so that it can be used.
