Item Description
A nineteenth century, English, wrythen copper pipe mould. This is marked “TEMPLE & CROOK IRONMONGERS MOTCOMB ST. S.W.”, it is made from a heavy gauge of copper and it dates from c.1880. It is also stamped with a pattern number “540”, and nicely engraved with the initials “S.S” which would be the initials of a previous owner. The Temple and Crook mark has over stamped the orb and cross symbol which is the marks of Benhams, and to the opposite side is a Benhams workman’s mark in the shape of a heart. So this mould would have been made by Benhams for retail by Temple and Crook. There is slight marking to the copper, which can be seen in the images, and the tinning, to the interior, is worn.
Dimensions: Height 10.8cm. Diameter 13.3cm.
Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £25. Most of Western Europe add £12.
