Item Description
Style: A generously proportioned, rustic milking stool, hand carved from sturdy elm and ash. Its elm seat boasts a warm, golden patina that has softened with age, resting upon three primitive, ash square profiled legs. Traces of historic woodworm, now long eradicated, are subtly visible in the underside of the seat timber.
Story: Milking stools are traditional low sitting, three legged seats created for stability on uneven farm terrain. First popularised in the 19th century, they enabled farm workers to sit comfortably while milking cows and sheep.
