Item Description
These are really nice unused vintage French linen metis sheets dating to the mid 1900s. Good sturdy fabric that will wash to become soft and comfortable - bedding to last a lifetime or also great fabric for curtains, upholstery etc. And they are 240 cm wide which is really big (and rare!) for vintage sheets.
Linen metis is a linen weft and cotton warp and has been very popular with French housewives down the generations. Less expensive than pure linen and a little easier to manage but still strong and long lasting.
Should be soaked and washed before use. No damage or wear, some light storage marks as you would expect but generally well stored.
Colour is currently a creamy beige (darker than the photos show) which will lighten considerably as the sheets are washed. (Laundry notes supplied with purchase.)
