Item Description
Oh this is a beautiful textile! A long length of unused French hemp tea towel fabric, cut from a bolt and never put to use which is sad as this would have been expensive when it was new in the 1920s or 30s.
This is hemp (rather than linen) and it has such a lovely feel to it. A warm beigey-stone colour with traditional woven warp stripes in a bright red (some of my photos are a bit dark). This piece has never been laundered. It is clean and ready for use but with washing it will tighten up and lighten in colour a little too.
I have a 910 cm piece which I am selling as two lengths. It is currently in one piece so if you need both it can come to you as a single length.
A set of placemats? Or use for upholstery, a small blind, cafe curtains, bath mats - so many possibilities.
