Item Description
It is rare to find sets of unused large vintage sheets so I was really pleased when I came across these lengths of linen metis. Cut from the bolt but never put to use - now is their chance! Currently two matched pieces available as shown. Price is per piece.
This is sturdy stuff, you just won't find modern fabric like this. Too heavy to be used as bedding these days but will of course be perfect for curtains/blinds and upholstery projects.
This is a totally unused, unbleached, never laundered "dead stock" fabric which will need a soak and a few washes to fully soften up but will give you excellent quality fabric for your interiors projects. Colour is a pale creamy oatmeal (less yellow than my photos) which will lighten a little with washing. Second and third photos show the colour best. Don't worry, I will send washing instructions with purchase.
Linen metis is a linen weft and cotton warp and has been very popular with French housewives down the generations. Less expensive than pure linen and a little easier to manage but still smooth, cool and long lasting. The fabric is medium weight and tightly woven, with a good "lineny" feel. Great fabric for upholstery projects or curtains, blinds etc. (I have many other pieces in stock if you need more, but they are not identical.)
Should be soaked and washed before use. No damage or wear. Storage marks along the fold lines, as to be expected. These will fade out as the fabric is laundered.
Approximate weight per piece: 2100 grams
UK postage £8 for one or two pieces.
