Item Description
A very attractive, French cast iron coffee mill with brass fittings. This is marked, on a small brass plaque to the side, “J.LAUZANNE FILS BREVETE S.G.D.G. A PARIS” and it dates from c.1880. This is a company that we have not come across before and the mill is quite an unusual design. The receptacle for the coffee is spun from brass and the interior has been tinned. The ground coffee then drops into a large tin drawer beneath which is contained between the ornate cast iron sides. The piece is well made and is in full working order. There are a couple of tiny splits to the brass lid and some minor dents to the bowl, from use, but otherwise it is in very good condition.
