Item Description
A nineteenth century, Minton, dust pressed tile from a series depicting the trades. This tile is marked “MINTONS CHINA WORKS STOKE ON TRENT” in the moulding and it is also marked “MINTON” across a globe, surrounded by STOKE UPON TRENT WALBROOK LONDON”. This series was designed by Moyr Smith and was produced in many different colours. This example is block printed in brown, on a buff background, with “PLUMBER”. It dates from c.1880. There are a few very small chips to the rim and a crack to one side which runs part way across the tile.
Dimensions: 15.2cm. high by 15cm. wide by 1cm. thick.
