Item Description
A late 19th century, sycamore breadboard. This is English and it dates from c.1890. The rim to this board is nicely carved with stylised leaves divided by shaped cartouches. The carving is slightly worn, giving character, and the wood has a lovely, pale patina. There is some staining to both the face and the reverse of the board and this can be seen in the images. It is in good condition, with no splits, just the usual knife marks to both sides of the board, from use. A hook has been put into the reverse so that it can hang but this does not affect its ability to lay flat on a table.
Dimensions: Diameter 29.2cm. Depth 1.5cm.
