Item Description
An unusual, Wedgwood majolica salad bowl and servers. This is marked ”WEDGWOOD ENGLAND” and it is also impressed with the letters “BNV”. This is the date code letters for the year 1893. There is a further impressed mark in the form of a registered design number “Rd206621” and the pattern number “4011” is painted in iron red. The elaborate design is moulded in a heavy earthenware and then coloured in red, yellow and grey majolica glazes. The matching servers are moulded with shells and seaweed and both the bowl and the servers have silver plated fittings. This is a really good looking set and it is in excellent condition.
