Item Description
A Wedgwood, dark blue jasper dip copy of the Portland Vase. This is marked “WEDGWOOD” and it dates from c.1840. There is also a small, impressed workman’s mark. Wedgwood produced copies of the Portland vase in many different colours and sizes ranging from miniatures to the full size, ten inch version. This example is quite small but it does have some slight flaws from the manufacture. Something has touched the handles during the firing and this has resulted in marks and glaze loss. This can be seen in the images. There is no damage since manufacture.The reliefs are good quality and the jasper dip is a rich shade of blue.
Dimensions: Height 12.7cm. Diameter 9cm.
