Item Description
1950’s Harlequin Shield Back Bentwood Dining Chairs – Set Of Sixteen.
High quality good scale dining chairs produced by the famous Czech firm Ton, still trading today and producing beautiful chairs. After World War II, the Thonet factory in Bystřice pod Hostýnem (Czech Republic) was nationalized by the state in the era of communism in Czechoslovakia. In 1953, the company was officially renamed TON, which is an acronym for Továrny na Ohýbaný Nábytek, meaning “Bentwood Furniture Factory” in Czech. We have gently restored the chairs but kept the original character and patina which is what this chair is all about. A strong sturdy chair of good scale and contemporary design. We service each chair individually before it leaves our workshop and we deliver chairs of excellent quality. The listing is for this et of sixteen as photographed, please note there are minor detail differences between the chairs.
Seat Height: 46cm.
