This sheet will have been so very expensive when it was new, it is quite the creation and it is absolutely enormous. A very fine top quality pure white linen with huge intricately worked monogram of the letter A with five point coronet of a vicomte and drawn threadwork ribbon surrounded by a deep lace panel. This is really glamour all the way!
What a beautiful curtain this will make, billowing at a window.
This sheet has one of my favourite details, something that speaks of a top quality piece - the bottom hem is finished with a very fine drawn thread hem which takes considerably longer to create than just a standard turned hem. And yet it would most likely only be seen by the maid.
There are two or three small darns and one group of tiny holes and a couple more pin holes but overall the linen does feel strong - with care it could be used for bedding. The fine linen does often have small repairs in it; just part of the life of a vintage piece. Small damaged areas to the lace border. Priced accordingly, of course.
There is one very pale mark below the monogram which I've tried to include in the photos but I think it's too pale to show. I don't think there's anything else.
