Oh my goodness this was an exciting find! Top, top, top quality weighty pure linen damask cut from the bolts of linen but never used. This is two pieces of fabric; one large tablecloth and a length for 12 napkins, still waiting to be cut into individual pieces and hemmed. These would make a fabulous wedding present or beautiful pieces to use for the wedding banquet.
Excellent quality pure linen with a wonderful pattern to the damask, this is a real heirloom set which will last a lifetime or two.
Colour is currently a rich cream which will lighten as the set is soaked and laundered before use. Traditionally these we sold unbleached and then left their natural colour or bleached by the owner (or their maid!). I have left some of the photographs a bit dark so you can better see the damask patterns.
In excellent vintage condition with no wear or damage as they are unused. Well stored with no real marks to speak of and nothing that won't be dealt with as the set is laundered.
